Making The Active Life Seem Easier With Nitrate Boosting Beets

You can very easily grow beetroot in your garden and have freshly pulled beetroot with all your summer parties. I purchase mine from the local farmers market as they are literally pulled from the ground fully intact. The leaves from the beets are delicious with salads and like all greens they are not only high in fibre but are also a good source of protein, phosphorus and zinc.
This nitrate rich vegetable has an abundance of science based evidence, demonstrating its ergogenic benefits. It has been shown to enhance performance by increasing muscles’ efficiency and tolerance of high intensity exercise and may help increase endurance. It is however dose responsive which I will cover in my sports section. For specific recommendations on nitrate supplementing email advice@yvonnetreacynutrition.com
Beets are also high in Vitamin C which boosts immunity and Vitamin B folate which helps reduce the risk of birth defects. Folate is recommended for all women once menses commence.
